BeeUltzama | Asociación de Turismo del Valle de Ultzama

Description

This experience includes a guided visit and a traditional curd workshop.

We will visit the henhouse. Here we’ll introduce you to these well-known — and yet often misunderstood — animals: why eggs are sometimes stored incorrectly, how long they last, how hens organise themselves, and the rooster’s role in the coop…

We will visit the vegetable garden (season permitting) and explain the “Parades en Crestall” growing method.

We will also visit the barn, where you’ll find rabbits, animals that have recently given birth or are recovering, and our piglets Peggy, Shin and Chan.

In the meadows, we’ll see the ponies Thor and Oddin (who has had offspring named Manolo), the mini-ponies Punki and MiniOddin, the mare Ultzama, the donkeys Ali and Roke (with their daughter Alba), and the donkey Pili. We may also see the Dexter cows, our donkey Antonio, our Assaf sheep, Latxa sheep (black-faced and blond-faced) and the Navarre breed, pygmy goats and Chinese geese.

To finish, we’ll wash our hands and show you how to make Ultzama-style curd, explaining how it was made in the past and how it is made today. If it’s cold, we will light the fire.
The workshop is included in the price and includes a tasting.

After the workshop, you can purchase local products in our shop.
