Description
Orgi is an oak woodland that stretches across the south of the Ultzama Valley, 25 km from Pamplona. It is an ancient 80-hectare forest, the last remaining witness of Navarra’s humid oak woods — rare habitats of great ecological value.
We offer guided visits and organise cultural activities in a truly privileged natural setting.
Our activities are designed for all audiences — schools, individuals and groups — and are led by the site’s Education Team.
These are gentle, easy routes where we aim to share knowledge, experiences, attitudes and values towards the environment, encouraging a commitment to the responsible use of resources and a sustainable way of life.
Come and discover it for yourself!
School visits – Educational programme
This year, the management of the ANR Orgi Forest is overseen by Fundación Ultzama 2013. Since 2013 it has managed Granja Escuela Ultzama, since 2017 the Caracol Project (the first Slow Food school in the world), and since October 2018 the bio-sustainable and educational dairy, Mikaela.
The Environmental Education Team at Orgi Forest runs guided visit programmes for Early Years, Primary and Secondary education, adapting the content to each level.
Visits are led by specialised staff who enrich the walk with activities and games, encouraging active and cooperative learning.
Teachers are advised to prepare the visit in advance, taking into account the season and the topics being covered in class.
The route is a pedestrian trail accessible to people with reduced mobility. The duration of the visit is adapted to the age and needs of the school group.
Early Years
Objective: Discover Orgi Forest through the senses: seeing colours, touching textures, smelling flowers, listening to birds, feeling the wind…
Primary & Secondary
Objective: Explore in more depth the relationships between the different elements of the forest through investigation, observation and interpretation.
Recommendations
Orgi Forest is a protected natural area, so it is important to respect the visitor guidelines.
In autumn and winter we recommend bringing warm clothing and suitable footwear (boots).
If weather conditions prevent the visit from taking place, the team will contact the school to postpone or cancel it. If the school decides to cancel for other reasons, it must notify us at least 5 days in advance.
The duration of the visit is 1 hour.
The price is €3 per student. The corresponding invoice will be issued.

Group visits
The accessibility of this site makes it possible to welcome all kinds of groups. Since opening, it has welcomed many different groups: retirees, centres for people with disabilities, public entities from other regions, rural development groups, leisure associations, and more.
We offer visits for groups of more than 10 people upon request.
Groups must pay the visit fee according to the established rates and discounts.
Volunteer days
Environmental volunteering is based on the objective of carrying out actions to conserve the environment.
Since its beginnings, Orgi has integrated citizen participation as a key tool for conservation — for example, the agile frog habitat restoration project launched with the support of environmental volunteers.
Today, we hold volunteer days to help restore the native oak woodland by removing invasive plants and carrying out new plantings.
